Lauren Jane Salt

She /Her
b. NT, Australia 1994

Lauren Jane Salt is a multidisciplinary artist based in Boorloo (Perth), Western Australia. Her practice is deeply intertwined with themes of nature, transformation, and cultural identity, shaped by her Bidayuh heritage and a lineage of florists. Working primarily with ceramics and organic materials, Salt explores cycles of growth, decay, and renewal, creating sculptural works that weave together personal and collective mythologies.      Salt co-found VOLIM, a collaborative label with artist Tia Tokić that merged art, design, and nature through the use of clay, textiles, and botanical elements.           Her work has been exhibited widely across Boorloo/Perth, including at Goolugatup Heathcote as part of the 2024 Indian Ocean Craft Triennial. In addition to her practice, Lauren teaches sculptural and hand-building classes at Farmer Street Studio, sharing her knowledge and fostering creative exploration within the community.
